:: Winter 2015 Pant Styles ::

Hello dears!

So for today’s post I thought I would list numerous styles of pants which seem to be making a big hit this winter. It is very apparent that both designers and brands in general have decided to offer us a very wide range of pant fits and styles for us to rock this winter. This range includes both the well known skinny pants as well as loose fitting styles.

Numerous fashion shows and lookbooks portray so many different styles for this winter, and I thought that it would e a god idea for me to collect and share some of them with you. I have spotted a variety of modern, vintage as well as timeless silhouettes which come in various colours and fits. So here it comes!

Black Straight Pants
This is potentially the most common style of pants ever, the most flattering on every body shape and size, and the easiest to style. It can easily be paired with sweaters for a dressed-down look, or else dressed up with a structured blazer. Pair it with heels and out the door we go!

Tracksuit Inspired Pants
Tracksuit Inspired Pants
As you will see as we get through these fits, so many of them are inspired by the 1960s and 1970s. This might not be everybody’s cup of tea, however it is a very comfortable way to look fashionable this winter, so do not be scared to give it a try!

Leather Pants
It might not suit everybody, but let me tell you, leather paired with absolutely everything is an automatic fashion A+! Leather, especially sleek black leather has the power to manipulate every outfit in appearing on point. Paired with a textured sweater, such as a knitted thick one is on point girls!

Leather Black Pants
Wide Legged Pants
Wide Leg Pants Again, a risky style to try as it might not flatter everyone, but that’s what changing rooms are for right? (Ugh!) Make sure to try them on before purchasing, but for those tall beauties out there, this is the style for you this year! Comfortable and gorgeous all day long!
Quilt Detailed Pant

Quilt Detailed Pants
As the name suggests, there is nothing more comfortable than this style of pants! It can be found in so many shops as its popularity is increasing at a very fast rate!

Shortened or Hemmed Pants
This was very popular last year, with so many of us hemming our skinny pants and jeans up to our calves! It is a very easy style to follow, however it goes a long way! It tends to elongate the legs for a more refined look! So keep up the good work! Beige, whites and browns are very popular this year!

High-Waisted Pants
Defining the waist has never been a negative thing, it makes the person appear taller, while slimming down any imperfections which most of us are not very proud of! (What is a gym!?) Make sure to invest in a nice pair of high-waisted besties this winter girls!

Red Leather High-Waisted Pants

Ripped Pants
Another style which remerged this winter! If it doesn’t appeal to you that much, or it makes your insecurities explode, you might prefer a slightly distressed pair for starters, which is equally as cute and flattering so don’t worry! Pair them up with a pair of combat boots and you suddenly look grungy and tough!
Ripped Jeans

Pleated Pans

Pleated Pants
Remember the days of school uniforms?! We hated them so much right? Well, our uniforms are now considered stylish! Who would have thought?! Pleated pants were very popular on the runways of numerous big names and brands, and were presented as a very versatile style, aimed at both the sophisticated professional, paired with a blazer and court shoes, as well as for the younger students!

Drop-Crotch Pants
This style has been seen on the catwalk, especially in leather, or else paired with leather anything. This laid-back look is very sophisticated and fashionable, while being one of the most comfortable styles which are trending at the moment.

Tailored Pants
Last but not least, are the popular fitted or tailored pants. This is very often merged with the pleated style to produce an equally sophisticated look. However, when it isn't, it is paired up with male-looking shoes for a mature look!

So, these were the primary pant styles for Winter 2014/2015. Which is your favourite style, and are you open to trying any of them? Let us know in the comments!

:: Winter 2015 Make-up Trends ::

Plum Lipstick
Hey girls!

    So for this post I thought I'd share with you some make-up trends I'd been noticing this winter, and what is to be expected for the following year! Vogue, Marie-Claire, Glamour, anyone which is in close proximity with any of these magazines among so many others have probably heard about this! But if you're like me, slightly lazy (when it comes to, um.. everything in life), then this post might be of help to you!

So firstly, bad news first, no red lips this year ladies! Unfortunately, the gorgeous red lipsticks we have in our vanities are to be given a break this winter, as the colours plum and burgundy are taking over. But not to worry, change has never been for the worst in the beauty industry, right? (Lord,we are prayin'!)

Burgundy Lipstick
Even though make-up looks are considered very subjective to years and even seasons, the natural look is never trashed out. We have seen it emerge every single season, as it can be simply referred to as timeless. Eyeshadow, eyeliner and lipstick in natural colours are must-haves, so make sure to invest in products which will serve you for a long time girls! They are definitely on the list of the basics!

Another look we shall be seeing yet again this winter, are those gorgeous smokey eyes, paired with black pencil eyeliner on the lower strand of eyelashes, as well as highlighted cheekbones. I don't know about you girls, but I believe that this left quite a hit this year! I feel that it compliments every eye colour so well. Hey, its difficult to go wrong with this!
Highlighted Cheekbones

Lastly, I have noticed that the main colours of eyeshadow for this year are golds, dark oranges, bronzes, browns, silvers and jade. Again, most of them are neutrals! It's also good to keep in mind that one does not have to implement everything into one look, but rather can adopt one characteristic of a trend and pair it up with another! For example, a neutral eye goes perfectly with a burgundy lip, right?

Let me know what your thoughts are on this years' looks, and feel free to share any of your own ideas! Take care! xxx

::What's in my Make-up Bag?! ::

Hey Girls!

     So as you might have guessed from the pretty obvious title, today you're getting a sneak peak of my make-up bag! I'll just be talking about what I keep in that black-hole, and what I use on an everyday basis regarding make-up :)! So shall we start? ...

  1. Essence Maximum Definition Volume Mascara - This is absolutely gorgeous, not very expensive but I can safely say that it has been the best mascara I have used for a long time! It simply elongates and fills up my lashes, and they need that!
  2. Technic Complete Brow Kit - I have only just started using this, a friend of mine made me realise the importance of using such a product to fill in brows every once in a while! I tend to not do this on a daily basis as I use it for more dramatic or dressy looks.
  3. Inglot Basics Freedom System Tri-Shadow Palette - I have already said enough on this palette in my opinion, I have written a whole blog post in relation to this gorgeous product by Inglot, so here it is: http://kayliesfashionparlour.blogspot.com/2015/01/inglot-eyeshadow-review.html
  4. Misslyn Basics Eye shadow Palette - This has been a favourite of mine for more than two years now, I just can't praise it enough! The variety of shadows is honestly amusing, and what makes them so much better is that they are so pigmented!
  5. The Body Shop Smudger Brush - This was given to me as a Christmas Present together with the above Inglot Palette, and it has been so great when applying highlighter and eyeshadows!
  6. Rimmel London Long Lasting Lipstick by Kate - This is just an example, because anyone who knows me can tell you how much I am in love with lipsticks, the brighter the better! This just happened to be in my make-up bag at the time but, Max Factor, Essence... any will do!
  7. Rimmel London Blush in Live Pink - This has just been my absolute favourite blush of all time, I've been using it for as long as I can remember, and I just keep buying a new one every time it finishes, its that good!
  8. ItStyle Make-up Concealer - This honestly just saves the day every time, its like having a best friend in your bag!?
  9. Random Blush Brush - Well, it does the job right?
  10. Ultra-shine Gloss Extra Brillante - When I'm not feeling in the mood for a full-on make-up look, just a little shine goes a great way! It looks like you've tried when really, you've just rolled out of bed (why am I sharing this on the Internet?!)
  11. Essence Stay All Day Long Lasting Foundation - Probably not the best foundation
    out there, but in my case it absolutely does the job without having to spend tons of money! So yay for me!
  12. Essence Pencil Eye Liner - Am I the only one that hasn't yet mastered the art of liquid eyeliner? I'm practicing guys, I'm practicing! However, I simply love this pencil eyeliner from Essence, it slides so beautifully on which makes it a lot easier to apply!
  13. Baby Lips Electro Fierce n' Tangy - Last but not least, this is an absolute lifesaver, especially with these cold months around. My lips tend to dry out and all I need is this lovely product! Problem Solved!
So, there you go! That's a sneak peak into my everyday make-up look!
I hope you enjoyed it, xxx <3

:: Persona - SkinCeuticals ::

Hey Girls!

So today's post is somewhat different; about a week ago I was invited to attend a Persona Med-Clinic Event at the Westin Dragonara Resort, St Julians. In short, this included the presentation and launch of the new line of SkinCueticals Cosmetics at Persona for this new year. SkinCeuticals is the only range in stock at Persona, while also being regarded as the No.1 Skincare brand in the United States by dermatologists.

SkinCeuticals addresses mainly a medical purpose, fighting against sun damage, pollution and stress. The company was born in 1997 from decades of skin cancer research by Dr Sheldon R. Pinnell (1937-2013). He has more than one hundred publications regarding skincare as well as four patents.

These products are only sold at medical centers such as Persona, as the company respects the need of consumers to follow a sort of routine, these same consumers are highly educated as they carry out a lot of research regarding their skin prior to purchasing the products.

''A single mission, a simple promise, a serious goal.''
The night's three largest launches were the following:

  1. Daily TRx for Hyperpigentation 'Advanced Pigment Corrector'
  2. Daily Chemical Free Tinted Sun Screen ( Universal Tint to match all complexions!)
  3. Resveratrol B.E: Night Concentrate : Skin Texture, Firmness and Elasticity.
For anybody whose wondering the place of purchase, here it comes! So, Persona's website is www.persona.com.mt where one can purchase numerous products online. In addition to this, they sell these same products on a one-to-one basis at their centers.

Some examples of their services are Botox, Facials, Hair Removal, Breast Augmentation, Smart Liposuction, and Rhinoplasty among a lengthy list of others.

The Persona Med-Aesthetic Center was founded in 2010, and it derived its name from the term 'person'. The reason for this is that they strive to build a company rotating around people, its customers.

It ultimately aims at providing a customer-centric experience, achieving the best results while at no point compromising health. They aim at providing value for money. Acting on their past plans, they have won numerous excellence awards and testimonials. They are divided into the following five:

  1. Health & Beauty
  2. Cosmetic Surgery
  3. Dermatology
  4. Non-Invasive
  5. SkinCeuticals.
In addition to the above, they boast highly qualified medics trained internationally, in possession of a high sense of ethics, a high-standard state-of-the-art Operating Theatre; full privacy and maximum comfort as well as the highest quality with regards to materials.

The company greatly aids Malta Hospice Movement which helps around 900+ patients yearly. Throughout the night, SkinCeuticals products were sold, a total of twenty percent which were donated to Hospice Movement. The donation came in the form of ten percent which was donated by Persona, as well as another ten percent of all the products sold on the night. This charity campaign is planned to span a whole year, with Persona Med-Aesthetic Centre donating five percent of its yearly SkinCeuticals sales to the same Charity Movement. This is inclusive of the proceeds collected from the SkinCeuticals online shop which has just been launched. Here is a link for your convenience: www.persona.com.mt.

In addition to the above, forming part of the same campaign, Persona made a donation to Prof. Joseph L. Pace, which is the President of Malta Association of Dermatology & Venereology, also known as MADV. This donation is meant to be used in their campaign regarding the promotion of skin cancer prevention in Malta.

Numerous samples were provided to be tried by guests

:: It's all about the hair! ::

Well hello there pretty ladies :)!

In this post I'd like to share with you some of my absolute favourite hair products and accessories! For those who know me well, I have this crazy curly hair that doesn't tame down very easily! They would also know quite well that I cannot stand fly-aways whatsoever. Now having these characteristics and combining them together might cause a bit of trouble, as they did. However, just recently I developed this hair care routine which helped me control my hair very well, and I have decided to share this with you :)!

So for a list of my favourite products, I shall start with my shampoo and conditioner. I use Finesse Colour Revitalizing Shampoo and Conditioner for the majority of my washes. I love Finesse as a brand in general, however having dyed my hair red, brown and black multiple times, I tend to find this shampoo very helpful for keeping the dye on as much as possible :)

Other products which I love to use after I wash my hair are the Cien Haircare Styling Mousse Colour and Shine,  and John Frieda Anti-Frizz Intense Masque. They help to dry my hair in natural beautiful curls without having to use any heat. For those of you who have curly hair might be able to understand better that drying hair without anything to tame it down, will result in scarecrow hair (as I like to call mine!) on your head. (Better safe than sorry right?)

The last couple of products I will be talking about are the Insun Care 3 Dimension Dry Oil Spray and the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Floral and Flirty Blush. The first products aids the strands of hair to stick together to give that effortless beachy wave look, while the Dry Shampoo gives a cleaner feel to the hair when we are simply way to busy to wash it today! Its a quick alternative that helps the hair tame down enough for you to work with it.

I hope that you'll find this helpful, and feel free to let me know what you think about any of the products I mentioned above, Also, let me know of any other products that you are simply in love with! I would live to test a couple of them out!

:: Inglot Eyeshadow Review ::

Hiya girls!

So today I thought I'll share with you a couple of thoughts about an Inglot Basics Eyeshadow Palette that I have received for Christmas. Now in no way, shape or form am I talking from a professional side, as I'm far from being classified as that, but this is simply a girl's opinion on a product!

So one of my presents last Christmas, was the Inglot Freedom System ( or Systeme' de la Liberte') Palette 3. This included three gorgeous eye shadows, three neutral colours which I could use for everyday. Prior to getting this palette, I made use of the Misslyn Runway Eyes Palette, which to be honest, served me quite well for over a year. However, upgrading was great!

I believe very much in neutral eye shadow, as I feel that it gives the illusion of a lot of time spent doing make-up, when in reality, you barely need ten minutes! The palette contained very pigmented colours which is the first thing I personally look for in shadows, blush and lipsticks, and it magnetic closure gives it a sophisticated and unique touch!

What do you guys think about this brand, and what would you suggest from it? Have you ever used any Inglot products before? Feel free to let me know!

:: The Meaning of Resolutions ::

Hey girls!

    So, having transferred into a new year, I've been hearing a lot about New Years' Resolutions and becoming a better you and things along those lines. Regarding this I know I'm not alone!. However, I wanted to share a thought with you regarding these resolutions :)

First of all, yes I do find resolutions helpful, as I feel that in order to come up with resolutions in the first place, we have to automatically revise and do an internal-check up of what we have accomplished, or rather failed to accomplish this past year.

In addition to this, it acts as a plan for the following year. For example, so many of us always ( and I mean Always!) feel the need to 'live a healthier lifestyle' or 'start saving up'. These manage to find their way into our resolutions every year. Now, being honest with ourselves, if we have the same resolutions over and over, this implies that we are mostly failing at them, OVER and OVER!

What I have realised however, is that for the first six days of the New Year, we can all be considered professionals, it is after the first week that we start to drift away from our self-regulations! We need to make an effort and live everyday as if it was the first day of the year; with that positive mindset and attitude in set!

Below, I shall link you lovely readers to a couple of videos that I stumbled upon :) These are a couple of youtubers which honestly inspire me on a daily basis, and who have managed to live so many experiences in the past year :)

This is the attitude which we need to reflect on a daily basis! Enjoy xx

:: Being a Team?! ::

Hey girls :)!

So first of all, I wish to excuse myself for not posting as often as I had planned to. Having started a Law Course at University definitely did not make it any easier, however here I am now! And more excited than ever woo! I also wish to thank all of you guys who show me great support <3

In addition, I wish to let you know that I tend to post more on my Facebook page for the sake of continuous interaction :)! So here's a link to that! https://www.facebook.com/kayliesfashionparlour

Now, the point of this post isn't to ramble as I have done so far (no shame!), but rather to talk to you girls about something that has been on my mind for quite a long time. This is a somewhat different kind of post because I intend it to be more of a discussion rather than me just suggesting ideas about how to pair this with that!  So please, let me know what you think regarding this topic!
What I shall rant about is us girls judging other girls ( and obviously everyone else, admit it! ) on the basis of looks, including size, hair, make-up, shoes.. you name it.  Now, I am the first one to be guilty of this and I know I'm not alone, but it's not something we decide to do, it's something we just, do. However it is not something that I feel proud of, its a negative perspective to have towards people especially when meeting them for the first time.

I feel that we should all be one team helping each other with our girly needs and sh*t like that! It seems like such an easy thing to say, but being quite honest with myself, I think it's a difficult thing that can only take place as time goes by.

What do you think? :) Is it something we should take as a permanent characteristic of us girls, or is it something we should try and change?

Looking forward to hearing from you! xx
